Just A Moment to Collect My Thoughts

So, I think my life will calm down a bit in the next couple of days. Last week was very busy. Almost no time to post. So, here's my HUGE post to tell the world of my many, many ideas. First, I've yet another internet quiz, and here's the results:

I'm really not surpised by this result. I've always known I was a Buddhist at heart... mostly because most of my family is Buddhist.

I've just seen the movie Skipped Parts. One of my friends thinks this is a really good movie, but I just thought it was okay. It does star a very young Mischa Barton, acting as wooden as she does (did?) on the OC. And the director is Mike D's wife and also the genius behind Billy Madison...

I'm going to be a janitor, or caretaker for those of you who want to be PC, at my old high school this summer. I applied on a whim and now I've got an okay paying summer job. This is what my degree gets me. Here's the list of jobs I've had since I've graduated from school: telemarketer, musicstore clerk, late-night video store clerk, housesitter, temporary caretaker, math tutor, and produce clerk. None of these jobs have paid me very well, but at least I was working. Some of these jobs had other benefits but in general I haven't lived up to my potential. Now I'm going to a janitor before I go teacher's college. So fuckin' awesome.

The other night I was out with Eggy and UFC at a hip local bar (Drinking on a Wednesday? I know, I'm soooooooo cool). While we were there, I spotted two people whose blogs I read on a fairly regular basis. It weirded me out because the internet world and the real world aren't supposed to mix. Sometimes you listen to the wrong type of music

I'm a big believer in the fact that the type of music you listen to can affect your mood drastically if you want it to. Sometimes I choose the wrong type of music for my mood. For example, right now I'm listening to Sigur Ros' ( ) album. You know the one. It doesn't have a title and neither do any of the tracks. Anyway, it's totally the wrong type of music to be listening to right now. It's making me sleeply, depressed, and generally upset. Now don't get me wrong. I really like that album. It's just that it doesn't suit my needs right now. I don't know exactly what type of music I want to listen to right now so that's why I'm leaving it on and it's just getting worse. It just sounds so sad... full of longing and misery.

Interestingly enough, I've seen this survey done a bunch of different blogs, and since I have no online friends, I've decided to just do it myself and then try to convince the couple of people I do know to try it out too.

10 years ago - I was fourteen years old. I didn't have a job. I think I had just spent most of the summer away at different one week camps. I think I went on something like three seven-day camps that summer. It was a good one.

5 years ago- I was working at Ontario Place the summer before I went to University. I think it was the first season I had worked there, and it was a blast. I drank too much, went partying too much, got puked on, got pushed down some stairs, and overall had a great summer.

1 year ago- I had just finished the last of university courses and was driving to Winnipeg at this point. Actually, it was the first day of said trip. Man, that trip was fun. Too bad the destination wasn't worth it.

Yesterday - I awoke in someone else's house after a night of heavy drinking, went to Tim Hortons to get something to eat, and then came home and watched something like three discs of the first season of Popular. Man, that show sucked.
