Over the last couple of days I've been spending a lot of time checking out MP3 blogs. I think they're awesome, but I don't want to get into a lenght debate about whether or not this helps the music industry. All I know is that if I hear something I really like I'll make a point of either buying the album or checking out the artist when they come through my town on tour. I can't afford to buy tons of records anymore, and honestly, I'm tired of buying an album and finding out there's only one good track. In the past, I bought albums on a regular basis and I plan to continue this trend, but the internet allows me to find new artists that I may not have heard of and give them a chance. If a artist/band can put out a good record I'll buy in a heartbeat, reagardless of what genre of music it is. I just want solid RECORDS, not just good singles. Singles are fine, but that's what the internet is for. I never have, and never will, buy singles. I like albums. I'm not downloading albums off iTunes because I like physicality of the object. Maybe I'm romantizing a bit, but that's how I feel. I understand that it's the content not the object that matters, but what can I do? I was raise in a materalistic society.
I just read what I wrote and it's all over the place. The entire paragraph is generally on the same topic, but there's no clear flow. This is why, kids, I'm not a writer.
