Listening to some albums that I heard of but never got a chance to pick up in the past (or they just came out and I don't have the money to buy right now). The Lovage album, music to make love to your old lady by, is okay, but it's nothing to write home about. The new Guided by Voices' album, half smiles of the decomposed, is like all of their recent albums - not very lo-fi but still good pop songs. Too bad they're finished now, but I guess now that Rob Pollard is reaching 50 he can't rock as hard as he used to.
The Magnificent Seven is on television right now. That's a good Western. Too bad they don't make movies like that anymore. Actually, I don't think they could. The times have changed too much. I watch this now and I realize that it's an old film. Doesn't make it any better/worst (maybe it makes it better since the more time that passes, only the good movies are remembered and shown. Old films aren't necessarily better. We, as the younger generation, only see the best of the bunch). I just realize that it a relic of a era that has passed.
