Troubleshooting

Verb
  1. Solve serious problems for a company or other organization.
  2. Trace and correct faults in a mechanical or electronic system.

Most of my work consists of being able to think on my feet. This is probably the number one skill sets I need. I'm not saying I'm good in a crisis or anything. I'm saying that many of my jobs kind of say, "go ahead, get it done" without a whole lot of instruction. There are professional guidelines, curriculum, and workplace standards I follow but the nuts and bots about how to "teach" that's up to me. I find this a little odd. Then again there's a certain freedom and creativity in this.
