I Will Always Do

I've been toying with the idea of getting an official domain name for this blog. Something that ends in .org or .com (maybe even .ca). It isn't an expensive proposition so why am I hesitant? I've had this blog for a while now. There are limitations to what I can do with a blogspot.com blog. Would I be able to manage my online identity better if I switched to wordpress or something? Should I go public with my blog? Link it to my other social media networks and let elementary school friends see what my world has become? These are decisions I need to make before I pay twenty bucks for personalized website and the space to host it.
