So I finally saw the Watchmen today. It was an okay movie, a faithful adaptation but I didn't like it all that much. Am I too much of a fan of the source material? Probably but that's the chance I took seeing the movie.
My biggest problem is the lack of humanity. Instead of being human, the characters are superhuman. Flying through the air, breaking criminals bones with the greatest of ease... just doesn't seem to fit the tone of the original. In the original they seem all too human, and dressing up in costumes was a bit silly. In the movie, it seems like serious business.
Also, almost all the non-costumed characters were cut out of the film but I understand why that happened. The movie would have been WAY too long if it had been kept in.
I have other issues with the movie but since this isn't a fanboy comic blog, I'll leave it. Please read the comic book if you haven't already.
