Some days I realize that I just post about what I've done that today OR what I'll be doing today. It's a little boring but this blog is just a place to talk about my day. I'm as guilty as the next person of this. Not exciting stuff. I don't always have some grand philosophical question to ponder or a witty pop culture observation to make. Some days the everyday is all I can deal with. It was easy to think about the abstract when I was a teenager - I didn't have anything else to think about (well, except for girls, but I even thought about those in the abstract more than in any practical manner). Like everything in life, you've got to make an effort to think everyday. This is the choice I've made. Instead of working out, going to the gym, or doing something else physically demanding I read books or write (while others that I know to the opposite). My next book is the book that won CBC's Canada Reads this year. It's been my goal over the last year or so to read more Canadian and female authors. I think I've talked about this before and if I wasn't lazy I'd link to previous post. Anyway, back to the mundane.
Yesterday I started my final placement. My program requires that each candidate completes four three week placement within a variety of different schools. For the high school program, I'll have two placements in my first teachable (history), one in my second teachable (general social sciences), and one senior elementary school (grade 7-8) placement. This time around I'll be teaching a junior (grade 10) and senior (grade 12) Canadian history course and a Civics (grade 10) course. I'm very excited about this. And I'm back at Windsor's version of Fame!
And yes, in Canada we say grade 10 instead of 10th grade.

And it was John K. Samson's selection. That's pretty cool.
