The Replacements - I'll be you
I'm trying hard to be meaningful but sometimes it's too difficult.
"Don't blame me because I'm shallow. Beauty is, afterall, only skin deep." I'm paraphrasing a commerical that's running right now. It's so true. They're trying to make a joke about it but, in the end, beauty is only skin deep. Have you ever watched those horror films where they show you people without skin or what's exactly inside us? It's not pretty. This idea of true beauty being beyond the physical seems a little silly. There are other words to descibe depth of character, or inner beauty. I think it's silly to call something inner beauty. I understand how the term came about and why people use it but I don't agree with it.
I was thinking of something recently. I know too many people who were really into Sex and the City. I never really got into the show but I think I've seen most of the episodes at one point or another. But this is besides the point. Since I get bored often, and my mind wonders I start to think about random tangents, I decided to pick a song to represent each of the four women on the show.
Carrie: Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood by the Animals. It seems that most of Carrie's relationships seem to be based around men not understanding what she needs.
Samantha: The Other Side of the Coin by Solomon Burke. I'm not explaining this one because I believe that almost anything I could say would be seen as horrible so I remain silent and let others draw their own conclusions.
Charlotte: Clark Gable by the Postal Service because of the followin: I want so badly to believe that there is truth and love is real. I think that sums her up pretty well.
Miranda: Tori Amos' cover of Joe Jackson's Real Men. And so it goes/go around/but now and then we wonder who the real men are. Sounds like the words of a cynic.
I don't pretend for these to totally representational of these characters, but these are the songs I thought of. People are more than welcome to disagree. Hell, I'm not even totally convince with all of them except of Charlotte's. She's so EMO.

I disagree with the choice for Carrie. She needs a song that conveys insane self involvement with the a flare for the over dramatic, but in the end is just stupid.
Something like. . .I Need a Hero by Bonnie Tyler. It's the kind of song that, if taken literally, is so completely unreasonable that it would be insane to expect it.
Did I mention I really hate Carrie?
carrie totally has narcissistic personality disorder. i dont see how anyone could be friends with her ever.
the only thing worse than that is women who think that 'sex and the city' is actually their life put on television and produced by sarah jessica parker.
that doesnt really have anything to do with your post, but i had to rant. it bothers me so much.
wooooah so much carrie hate... :(
