I hate pop singers who use digital effects on their voices... okay, I should be very clear. I HATE POP SINGERS WHO USE DIGITAL EFFECTS BECAUSE THEY CAN'T REALLY SING. Using effects for some other reason is neat and sometimes interesting (but not very often). The classic example: that fuckin' Cher song. What brought this on you ask? I just saw the new ex-Mr. Jessica Simpson video. It's horrible. I wish I hadn't seen it. It makes me feel stupid.

You know, I did work experience in a recording studio, and we had this singer who couldn't hit a high C. We tried a few times, but in the end, the sound engineer gave up and said, 'Ah, we'll just fix everything so that it's in tune later.' That's what Protools is for, I guess.
That to me, was an incredibly scary moment. But, I mean, hey, if you're attractive and can mime pretty well, you're on the road to being a pop star!
