Ain't No Mountain High Enough

Last weekend involved lots of climbing. This is a picture from the top of one of the hills. What makes this hilltop special is that a plane crash on this site roughly 12 years ago. If you search around the area, there's still bits and pieces of the plane around. We even found some human remains (a small piece of bone which I didn't take a picture of out of respect for the dead). I remember reading about the crash when I was a young kid. There's a plaque but no actual path to get to it.

There weren't any clear paths either, only rivers. Because of the spring thaw, there was water everywhere. One of the guys I was with didn't have the proper shoes. Okay, that's an understatement. His shoes were falling apart. And for the record, I thought leaving the trail without a map to find a small lake that one of us had visited once years ago was a really bad idea. Thank god it worked out for the best.
