Yeah, if everyone hasn't figured it out yet, I've got a school boy crush on Neko Case. It all started when I saw her play on the first New Pornographers' tour (the one that only went through Canada). She was... I can't describe it. I have never had a silly crush on musicians, but... well... have you heard her sing? It's something else. Makes you feel all special inside.
She's going to be The Tonight Show on March 9th.
And I'm going to see her play at the Music Hall here in Toronto on April 2nd. I just bought the tickets. It was really expensive, but it'll be worth every penny.

i'm not a big fan of musician crushes - its basically, like, their job to make you fall in love with them. that said, some are just so damn sexy on stage. jack white.
and jeff tweedy may be the sweetest. i want to have his babies, but i'd never want his adorable family to break up.

... did Pitchfork like Neko's new album? I thought they said a number of the songs were too fussily produced, sorta airless A point that might be worth making. The music sometimes sounds a little bit smothered by her way up on top vocals--not that the vocals aren't great and all... but Mr. Garth Hudson ain't no slouch either.
Incidentally, Garth Hudson is my celebrity crush. I'd certainly consider it to be a privilege and an honor to be the meat in a Garth Hudson/ Levon Helms (see Three Burials) sandwich.
