You're so vain

I was in my history and film class, which is a film course for history students. It's taught by a professor from Germany who doesn't speak English very well. It makes it difficult when he's trying to academic jargon but doesn't know the English terms. Makes everything so confusing. Anyway, he did the entire history of cinema in three lectures, all running four hours. It seems he's leaving lots out, but I only know this because I lived with a cinema studies student for three years. Today I had a moment because he put up a small list of "neo noir" films and I had seen all of them and thought they were all awesome. Blade Runner, Sin City, Chinatown, Dark City, and other movies like that. I think I might like whatever this professor calls neo film noir. According to my old roommate, I just like crap.
