continuing on the path to destruction

Okay, films... between working as the late night clerk at the video and having free movie channels, I've watched A LOT of films and I don't really have a good sense of what is good and what is bad. Therefore, I'm sticking with random movies that made my life a little more interesting. So, here's how they break down.

Best movie discovered while working from 11pm to 3am:
Man On Fire
Best movie discovered while watching television: Danny Deckchair
Best movie seen in a theater that was surprisingly good: Sky High
Worst movie that everyone and their mother was talking about but wasn't really that good but people wanted to seem cool (2 years running):
Napoleon Dynamite
Funniest movie ruined by the end credits song: The Wedding Crashers

That's it. I'm not saying these movies were the best of the year, but they certain caught me off guard (except for
Napleon Dynamite. I still maintain that the entire movie is just one HUGE joke that "cool, urban hipsters" are playing on everyone else. For christ sake's, the director trying to deny the reference to Elvis Costello in the title wasn't on purpose. Bullshit. How else do you come up with a name like that?!?).

That's a funny story because the video store I worked was robbed twice. Once during the middle of the day when some girl was working and then another time when I was working. Being the good employee that I was, I didn't try to stop the person. And if my boss ever reads this, I wasn't about to stop some huge guy drugged out of his mind with a baseball bat over some candy bars. Suck it up. My life ain't worth it.
