leave me the check, I'll pay with the rest of my life

I wonder if my taste in music is getting worse as I get older. I find myself waiting with excitement for certain MOR songs to come on at work. Maybe I'm just making the best of a bad music situation... no wait, I can't say that because since when did Elvis Costello, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Jackson, and early Motown become bad music? But that represents only something like one out of every twenty songs. Mostly I have to just sing songs to myself in my head. Today's rotation consisted mostly of Since U Been Gone, When U Were Mine, Communication, Soon Enough, and I Only Want To Be With You. Out of all those songs, I'm only sad that one was stuck in my head. I blame the MOR playing during my seven hour shift.

ah, yeah I did. It was awesome. Eric Bachman came into the crowd and sang without a microphone because there were only something thirty people in the crowd. Just his voice, a banjo, and a bowed double bass. Heavenly. The album version just isn't the same.
