Don't shake my hand because it reeks of rotten fruit

I work in a supermarket. It's not high class or anything. As someone who works with things that could rot, you would hope that your employer would make sure proper covering was available, like gloves or something. Sadly, my employer has forgot to order more gloves and I had to work without them today. Now don't get me wrong, it's not the end of the world or anything. It's just really annoying to come home with your hands reeking of rotten fruit and/or vegetables. Thank god the potatoes were fine...

As I mentioned in my last post, I had a fun filled Thanksgiving weekend, which included two dinners with friends and only one lunch with family. I think I came out ahead in this time. Personally, I like Thanksgiving not so much for its historical value but because it's a secular holiday about giving thanks for what you have. That's an idea I can get behind. Traditionally, the autumn is a time of reflections, of harvesting the year's work and reaping it's rewards. In honour of a successful Thanksgiving, I'm going to list what I'm thankful for (Now, I realize that this sounds like some kind of cheesy made-for-TV moment, but I don't think everyone acknowledge's what they've got. I know I certainly don't. So for those of you who want to mock, go right ahead. This is one time where your wit lines will fall on deaf ears):

1. Family. After everything that's happened to me in the last year, my family has really come through for me no questions asked. From moving back to accepting my rationale for my career choice, nobody's been anything but encouraging.
2. Friends. They know who they are and they've suffered through enough of my so-called "drama" and will continue to suffer through it because I haven't learned from my mistakes.
3. Health... okay, I've got a nasty cold right now so I'm not so thankful for that, but in general I've got nothing to complain about.
4. Possibility. I think right now I'm most thankful for possibility. I've got options and that's nice and comforting. I'm not at that point where there are too many limits on my time, energy, or resources. I've got some decisions to make and I'm excited by that.

So yeah, that's it. It's a pretty standard list. I was thinking of including this blog in the list of what I'm thankful for but I don't think that's necessary. It's fairly obvious that I spend way too much time on this but its fun. Enjoy everyone and keep on rockin' in the free world... yes, it's one of those days.
