Computers are not good places to keep private information. It's too easy for someone to get access to it, even if they're far away. At least if you write something down, the person as to actually find the hardcopy in order to find out what's going on.
This is why you should never say anything important over email or save private thoughts anywhere others can read it. It can come back to bite you in the ass.
