I just finished watching the original theaterical release of Ridley Scott's classic sci-fi movie Blade Runner. I had seen the Director's Cut many times before, but before today I had only heard about the original version. Well, after seeing the original I understand why there is a Director's Cut. There's only three changes, but they are significant and totally change any interpretation one could have of the movie. Personally, I enjoyed seeing how things changed from the different versions, but overall the Director's Cut is better than the original. Sometimes changing the original after the fact isn't just a marketing ploy. Sometimes it really does turn a movie into a film.
