My girl* bought me another book. How does she know exactly what I like? Am I that predictable? For the record, it's the new Chuck Klosterman book. Awesome.
So, this is my 500th post. I thought I'd have something special all planned out, didn't you? That ain't happening. I'm not that organized. What it does allow me is the time to think and reflect about blogging. I really enjoy blogging. While this blog has been around since 2000, I really only started posting in 2005 and that's because I thought my life was kind of falling apart while I was thousands of miles away from anyone I knew who'd care. Since then I've gotten a lot better. I used this as an outlet for my misery via the pop culture references that only I enjoyed. Nestled in the titles of posts about nothing were the emotions; secret crushes, mistakes, dilemmas, and joys. All the titles (except for my post about my paranoia regarding technology. That one was obvious) told their own little narrative. Those posts before I had titles were nothing more than reactions. Like a good mix tape, I used lyrics, other people's poetry, to describe the mild existential angst I was going through (although, after being in a high school for two days I realize that my mid-20s angst has nothing on their collective teenage angst. It's so awesome I can't even begin to describe it).
So that's it. This is the way the post ends, Not with a bang but with a whimper

an actual (yet vague)reference to myself without a codename? an allusion to the fact that you have a girlfriend?!!
i am beyond shocked at this intimate info!
happy 500th though!
(that was a good post!)
p.s. you are extremely predictable.
i agree!
good post.
there's nothing like going back to see what a mess you were then to make you realize how good you have it now.
and i mean that 'you' in the 3rd person sense.
i take umbrage with your "whimper" comment.
this is not a whimper. this is a fist pump followed by an 80s-kick-for-emphasis.
there is far too much banging, the world needs more awesomeness coming across as a whimper. i'll give you whisper, but not whimper.
kudos mr. senseless. kudos.
500 posts! Congrats on the much-postingness. :)
